Green investment at the bakehouse

2-minute read The Komáromy Pékség team

Capacity expansion and green investment: modern bakery machines and a solar power system, with EU and Hungarian funding.

In 2026 the development of Komáromy Pékség began, supported by a grant won under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP, in Hungarian KAP). The title of the project: Capacity expansion and green investment for Komáromy Pékség.

What does the project include?

  • buying modern bakery machines and equipment
  • installing a solar power system
  • a process automation robot that supports invoice processing and some financial administration tasks

The aim of the project is to expand production capacity, improve energy efficiency and modernise operating processes. In our bakehouse in Gyenesdiás we already work mainly with German and Italian machines; the project will buy modern bakery machines and equipment.

The solar power system

The solar power system is expected to reduce electricity costs while contributing to more environmentally conscious operation. Expected completion of the project: 4 April 2027.

The grant

We won the grant under the call “Feldolgozó üzemek fejlesztésének támogatása” (Support for the development of processing plants, KAP-RD04a-RD04b-2-24); the project’s identification number is 3955677967. The contracted, non-repayable grant amounts to HUF 31,118,147, a rate of 52.35%. The project is co-financed by the Government of Hungary and the European Union. You can read the details on the CAP grant (KAP) page.

What we already do

We use only environmentally friendly cleaning products. We use as little paper as we can, and what we use is forest-friendly and recycled. We sort our waste for recycling, and we work with filtered water in production.
