Our story

“Because a good day starts with good bread.”

Komáromy Pékség is a family bakery in Gyenesdiás: we have been baking since 1994, and our six shops in Keszthely, Hévíz and Alsópáhok welcome you. Our story began on 1 June: Komáromy Beáta and master baker Sorok Attila started the business with three employees. At first we supplied local shops, restaurants, hotels and institutions with fresh baked goods. Our first shop of our own opened on Piac tér in Keszthely, and since 2000 we have been a Kft. (limited company).

Today we work with more than 50 employees. Most of our products are made in our bakehouse in Gyenesdiás, mainly on German and Italian machines, to recipes developed by our master baker. From here we deliver several times a day to our partners and our shops in Keszthely, Hévíz and Alsópáhok.

Our philosophy

Three principles

We make traditional Hungarian and unique artisan products, in line with modern dietary needs.

  1. Traditional

We preserve the classics of Hungarian baking.

  2. Artisan

We make unique products with expertise and care.

  3. Modern

    We follow today’s dietary needs.

„Elsődleges célunk, hogy az egészséges táplálkozás az emberek életének részévé váljon, amit hosszú távon megbízható, kiszámítható és állandó minőséggel biztosítunk.” Translated from Hungarian “Our primary aim is for healthy eating to become part of people’s lives, which we ensure in the long term with reliable, predictable and consistent quality.”
Our motto „Minőség Mesterkézből” Translated from Hungarian “Quality from a master’s hand”

The founders

Our founders, Komáromy Beáta and master baker Sorok Attila, still run the company personally. Both have wide experience in technology and product development, especially in bread, speciality breads, rolls and savoury bakes, and pastries.

„Három munkatárssal kezdtük Gyenesdiáson. Azóta sok minden változott, a mércénk nem: csak olyan kenyér kerülhet a pultra, amelyet mi magunk is szívesen tennénk az asztalunkra.” Translated from Hungarian “We started with three employees in Gyenesdiás. A lot has changed since then, but not our standard: only bread we would gladly put on our own table can go on the counter.”

  • Flour from a Hungarian mill Our main flours are milled by a Hungarian mill.
  • Filtered water We use filtered water for our doughs.
